Frequently Asked Questions

Initial Visits

Initial visits are scheduled for 75 minutes. Whenever possible, please submit your initial paperwork and register 48 hours prior to your visit. This will give us time to review your case and take up less in person time.

At your initial evaluation and consultation Mario Gallina L.Ac., CMTPT will review your medical chart, do an assessment and together set goals that are attainable.

This is a great time to ask any questions that you may have about treatments or procedures.

What to expect

Dry needling require us to stimulate and repair sensitive tissue. Some patients will report some uncomfortable sensations and almost all will have soreness and tenderness post treatment. Our patients find that the relief they feel from our treatments far outweigh any post treatment discomfort.

Acupuncture is a relatively painless procedure but there can be times when certain locations can be uncomfortable. We will do our best to minimize any discomfort and we will discuss the times where it may be appropriate for a little discomfort.

When dry needling and acupuncture are performed by a well trained and knowledgeable medical care provider it is a safe procedure and carries few risks. Mario Gallina L.Ac. CMTPT will cover all the possible risks prior to treatment. If you have any concerns please contact our offices.

Treatments - How many?

A course of treatment is usually necessary for most moderate to complex conditions. A course of treatment can range from 6-10 sessions. At times, things can improve quicker than expected and patients do not need to be seen for an entire treatment course. Other times, multiple treatment courses may be required to achieve our set goals.

How Long Is Each Treatment?

A typical initial visit will last around 75 minutes depending on complexity of the condition. To ensure a quicker time please complete registration and paperwork 48 hours in advance.

Follow-ups are scheduled at 50 minutes.

What Should I Wear?

Comfortable loose clothing is the best option.

Depending on your condition we will need access to legs, arms, upper and low back, abdomen, etc. A gown will be provided upon request. If you are at all uncomfortable please let us know and we will discuss possible options.
