About Mario

Mario Gallina L.Ac., CMTPT is a Santa Barbara native who has devoted his career of over 20 years to the treatment of acute and chronic pain, sports injuries, repetitive stress injuries, musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions using an integrative approach including dry needling, traditional acupuncture, manual therapy, sports taping, and other techniques to help his patients achieve long-lasting relief and peak performance.

Mario is an expert in the field with extensive experience, professional education and training, including a Master’s in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (2008), a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2001), certificates in dry needling from Myopain Seminars (2017), traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics and tui na (traditional Chinese manual therapy)  from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (2014), and post-graduate studies in Beijing and Zhejiang (2009). Mario was a Qualified Medical Examiner (QME) for the state of California.

In 2009 Mario co-founded San Francisco Acupuncture Group in the heart of the Financial District, a nationally-recognized pain and dry needling clinic. In 2014 he became lead acupuncturist at the onsite health center of the headquarters of a major Cupertino-based tech company. 

Mario and his family returned to Santa Barbara to be closer to loved ones. He lives in Santa Barbara with his wife and two children.
